The menu offers a parade of standout dishes that celebrate Southern and Creole traditions with thoughtful creativity. The “Large Biscuits And Gravy” are indulgently comforting, while the “Full Stack Griddle Cakes” spiked with cinnamon and nutmeg deliver a sweet, nostalgic delight.
For those craving classic Southern BBQ, the menu does not disappoint. The “Baby Back Ribs” fall off the bone with a smoky tenderness that lingers warmly on the palate, while “Meatloaf Trashy Mac” offers a rich, indulgent comfort-food experience. The Bloody Mary and sweet tea are quintessential accompaniments that perfectly balance the bold flavors. Po Boys, offered in generous 6- and 12-inch options, showcase crispy fried oysters, shrimp, and catfish with blackened and hot variations, delivering a satisfying crunch paired with tender, flavorful fillings.
Vegetable sides such as collard greens, fried okra, and hush puppies bring authentic Southern soul to the plate, offering a well-rounded dining experience that pays homage to tradition without feeling tired. Of particular note is the luscious banana pudding and pecan pie, sweet endings that close the meal on a lovingly home-spun note.
Customers consistently praise the friendly, attentive staff, who contribute significantly to the warm, welcoming vibe that makes Miss Delta feel like more than just a restaurant—it’s a community hub. While some patrons have noted that the flavor profiles may lean toward a more subtle interpretation of Southern cuisine compared to other strict purveyors of authentic soul food, the overall sentiment highlights a well-executed menu that is both approachable and satisfying.
Whether you come craving a soulful Southern brunch or a robust barbecue dinner, Miss Delta Restaurant and Bar delivers with passion, quality, and a distinctly Portland character. This spot is a must-visit for anyone seeking hearty, flavorful dishes served up with genuine hospitality in a lively, inviting setting.
Let me start by saying that the staff was INCREDIBLE! We got a little bit of everything on the menu. There is a focus on southern barbecue. Unfortunately, the robust flavor commonly attributed to southern food was absent. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good, but not quite to the southern quality I have experienced elsewhere. I would recommend the blackened chicken(and likely anything else blackened), burnt ends, andouille sausage, and the sweet tea. The parking situation is very Portland-esque so don’t expect a parking lot. There are lots of great local entrepreneur businesses up and down the street too!
Not sure of the authenticity of the food. BUT it was mostly tasty. I guess you don’t go to Portland for Cajun soul food right?? Burnt ends- tasty but fatty Mac n cheese- definitely not soul food but tasty Gumbo- my friend liked it Fried green tomatoes- loved the crust and texture but TOO salty. Sweet tea/ 100% good! Service is very friendly and the place is super cute and eclectic
This kind and caring Lil heartbeat of Portland is giving out free burgers and fries, or pulled pork poo boy's, for free to (Snap) recipients. Very good food.
Food was pretty good. Chicken was salty, so were fries. I got the burnt ends, not enough for the al a carte price but flavor was decent, fish was a nice size fillet (happy). Sides: mac, greens, red beans and rice, all good. Good size portions for sharing, prices are high but represents the location. Service was good, I requested a big table ahead of time for a celebration and owner was very responsive and kind. Everyone liked their food.
This place is fire! I am troubled to admit that I live in Portland and had not heard of this place as they have been in business since 2007. Where the heck have I been? It's a BBQ place in an old brick store front building with fun decor. It's clean and smells heavenly of BBQ. There is an easy menu with the flexibility to get all the goods you want. They have it all... brisket, ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends, catfish, shrimp, chicken, and more. The sides are AMAZING, too. I had collard greens and red beans and rice, topped with their pulled pork. All meals come with a cornbread muffin and honey butter. My son ordered the candied sweet potatoes, and they were the best I have ever tasted. They also have a full bar. The service team was very friendly and attentive, too. I heard they serve brunch, and I can't even imagine how good that would be. Needless to say, I'm going back. I'm not certain they could accommodate a large group unless they have more seating in another area, but I could be wrong.
